Participation Level

That which we persist in doing becomes easier, not that the task itself has become easier, but that our ability to perform it has improved

Elite athletes demand an in-depth analysis of their strengths and weaknesses in order to inform training and competition.

This may involve an assessment programme that is systematic, frequent and expensive.

Recreational athletes, on the other hand, may not want the detailed analysis demanded by the full-time athlete and so less in-depth programmes are available.

Competitive club-level athletes will benefit from an approach that falls between that demanded by the athlete groups referred to above.

Team sports often require a different approach within which athletes are tested in groups with greater emphasis on a systematic field-testing approach.
