Sports - Cricket

Cricket players require several key attributes:

  • Sound athletic base
  • nutritional and hydration awareness
  • specific role conditioning

To me, it doesn't matter how good you are. Sport is all about playing and competing. Whatever you do in cricket and in sport, enjoy it, be positive and try to win.

The physical attributes are important delay the onset of fatigue and accompanying deterioration in skill or concentration and theprevention of injury.

 

Assessments should be performed at appropriate stages to determine:

  • players' strengths and weaknesses
  • conditioning status
  • effectiveness of prescribed training and maintenance programmes

 

Assessments will involve the following:

  • Body composition
  • Range of motion
  • Upper body strength
  • Lower body strength
  • Speed
  • Speed-agility
  • Vertical jump
  • Aerobic fitness
